Traditions

Holidays are always busy, fun and full of traditions. Our family tradition is.... every year after we pick out the perfect Christmas tree, we take it home, decorate it (while watching the holiday fave "Christmas Vacation") and enjoy some YUMMY pizza and wings! I look forward to it every year and so do the kids. Normally, Greg just sits on the couch, and watches the movie as I do all the work. (and occasionally tells me where an ornament should be placed) But this year, he helped! :)
One of my mom's traditions is....every year, she does a Christmas cookie night with all her grandkids. They get to make, and decorate Christmas cookies. Sometimes, us adults get to participate. Decorating can get a little competitive but I'd say my brother Christian usually wins for foul creativity! Usually, during or after the decorating, Santa Claus drives through the neighborhood and the kids get their pictures taken with him. Unfortunately, Ethan didn't believe he was the real Santa and refused to sit on his lap for a picture.
One of my Mother in Law's traditions is...every year on Christmas Eve, she makes green chili burros. After dinner, we gather around for the telling of Jesus' birth, as the kids get to act out the Nativity scene. Ethan got to play Joseph this year, Aidan a wiseman, and Oliver...who else, baby Jesus. Afterwards, Santa comes by the house bearing gifts for all the children. Ethan did believe this was the ReAl Santa, and therefore sat on his lap and told him what he wanted for Christmas! However, I did not have my camera. :(
